Description:Prashant Kishor, a former election strategist who worked for the United Nations before that for a long time, has entered politics with his newly-formed Jan Suraaj Party. He is attempting to make the Bihar assembly election a three-way contest. Before forming his own party, Kishor, also known as 'PK', advised major political parties such as the BJP, Congress, TMC, YSR Congress, and AAP across states.
After walking across Bihar for two years, Prashant Kishor announced the formation of the Jan Suraaj Party on October 2, 2024, on Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary. Several prominent leaders from other parties, including Uday Singh (aka Pappu Singh), have joined. Uday Singh, a former MP from Purnea, has been named the party's national president.
Prashant Kishor was on a 'Bihar Badlav Yatra' (Tranform Bihar March) ahead of the 2025 assembly election. During this yatra, he urged people to vote for Jan Suraaj instead of the NDA or Mahagathbandhan as new option beyond caste lines. He is also telling voters to look past issues like roads, drains, temples, and mosques, and instead vote for a party that prioritises their children's education and employment.
