BJP leading on Ayodhya Sadar assembly seat

It is among the closely followed seats in Uttar Pradesh as the under-construction Ram Mandir falls under this constituency

Lucknow: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Ved Prakash Gupta was leading against his rival Tej Narayan Pandey of the Samajwadi Party (SP) by over 5,678 votes in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya Sadar.

By the end of six rounds of counting on Thursday, Gupta had bagged 21,417 votes followed by Pandey with 15,739. Gupta won the seat in the 2017 assembly polls. Ayodhya Sadar is among the closely followed seats in Uttar Pradesh as the under-construction Ram Mandir falls under this constituency.

On the neighbouring Rudauli seat, BJP’s Ram Chandra Yadav was leading against Anand Sen Yadav of the SP. In Gosainganj (Ayodhya district) SP’s Abhay Singh was ahead of his BJP rival Aarti Tewari by over 2,758 votes. Singh had bagged 16,992 and Tewari 14,234 votes.

The BJP was leading on four assembly seats, Ayodhya Sadar, Milkipur, Rudauli, Bikapur, in the district. SP was ahead in the remaining Gosaiganj assembly seat.
