A South African restaurant which put lion meat burgers on the menu (above) during the World Cup is facing the ire of animal rights activists. Cameron Selogie, owner of the Il Vinaio restaurant in Mesa, served burgers made with African lion this week.

Reservations sold out, with a waiting list 100 long. But animal rights activists picketed outside and have even sent out death threats.
