Jr NTR says he would love to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe: 'I’m waiting for it to happen'

Actor Jr NTR, who is in the US representing RRR during awards season, shared that he would be open to join Marvel Cinematic Universe and is 'waiting for it to happen'. He attended the 80th Golden Globes with director SS Rajamouli and his RRR co-star Ram Charan on Wednesday.

Jr NTR revealed that he would love to join Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the future and is 'waiting for it to happen'. The actor is in the US promoting his Telugu film RRR during awards season. Over the weekend, the actor also accompanied Rajamouli at a few screenings of RRR ahead of the Oscar nominations later this month. He and Ram Charan are in the US for the first time for RRR for awards season. The actors have been speaking to the American press who have been curious about their future plans, especially if they would be interested in any Hollywood films.

Speaking to the Hollywood trade website Variety, NTR told the publication that he wouldn't mind joining the MCU. He said, "I would love to do it. I’m waiting for it to happen.” He also added that he is favourite character from Marvel is Iron Man, "He’s so relatable. He is someone like us. He does not have superpowers. He doesn’t come from a different planet. He’s not someone who has been put through a science experiment and become the Hulk.”

The actor also shared that he trained rigorously for 18 months for his role as Bheem in RRR. He gained around 7 kg of muscle and eat seven meals a day to gain weight. The dedication seems to have worked out as he is gaining new fans overseas with the Telugu film being discovered on OTT.

RRR won the Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu and composer MM Keeravani was on hand to accept it. The film was nominated for Best Non-English language film, but lost out to Argentina, 1985.

NTR's next titled NTR30 will begin filming in February. The film will have a worldwide release on April 5, 2024. The actor will reunite with Koratala Siva for the project. Produced by Hari Krishna K and Sudhakar Mikkilineni, the upcoming film will have music composed by Anirudh. Janhvi Kapoor is rumoured to be starring opposite the actor in the film.
