Mohanlal tries to cheer up Neha Fathima on Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 after her face-off with parents over romance with co-contestant Tashi Raj
A promo showing Neha Fathima's parents scolding her on Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 and wanting her to leave the show has been much-talked about.
A recent episode of Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 was widely discussed after a promo showed contestant Neha Fathima’s parents getting emotional on the show and chiding her. They were disappointed that she had fallen in love with co-contestant Tashi Raj, whose real name is Santhosh. After her parents wanted her to leave the show and she refused, Mohanlal tried to cheer her up.

While BB usually has scheduled family time, an exception was made for Neha’s emotional parents in a recent episode. Standing near Mohanlal on stage and talking to their daughter who was on the show, the parents appealed to her to return home.
“Neha, do you remember us? We don’t think you do,” said her father. Her mother almost broke down crying and said, “All of them are playing the game, but you are holding on to emotions. You are being used. You are playing that game we asked you not to play. You are holding on to a hope, no? I am feeling 100% more of its hurt.”
As Neha appeared visibly disturbed by their comments, Mohanlal stated that her parents were there with a specific request to take her home. “I am also the father of a daughter. They are here, adamant that they want to take Neha back home,” he said. The contestant also couldn’t hold back tears, but eventually decided to stay back on the show.
After the promo began doing the rounds, it soon took on a communal colour, with people claiming that Neha’s Muslim parents had an issue with her falling in love with a Hindu, though they never mentioned it.

After Neha’s parents left, Mohanlal tried to cheer up Neha before leaving the stage. “Okay, Neha? Are you okay?” he asked her, waving at her. When she said that she was fine despite visibly crying, he asked, “So, should I stand here?” He even remarked on the ‘sweet flower’ she was wearing in her hair, adding, “Give me a smile.” When she remarked that she isn’t in a situation to smile, he said, “Then let me make you smile before I leave.”
“Why shouldn’t you smile, child, whatever the situation? Isn’t that our real strength? Whatever the situation, isn’t that our real strength? Yes, in our lives, think of all the massive struggles even people like me have gone through. Above everything else, they say pure joy is supreme. Rising above all that is what truly matters. Come on, you can do it. Okay? God bless,” Mohanlal said before he left the stage. Both Neha and Tashi got emotional.
Neha previously expressed her feelings for Tashi on the show and expressed interest in pursuing a relationship outside it. While Tashi admitted to being fond of her, he said he wanted to focus on the show.
