Read: Sarang Mahajan, Author, Luwan of Brida

The Lord of the Rings series, J R R Tolkien
It is the best creation in fantasy literature to date. I just have to open a random chapter every time I need inspiration. It’s amazing how Tolkien inspires me through every walk of life whenever I need fuel to do my best.

The Pillars of the Earth, Ken Follett
A masterful creation based on mind-blowing research and fascinating twists. The characters behave perfectly true to their nature and yet keep surprising you all the way. The best historical drama I have ever read.

The Curious Incident of a Dog in the Night Time, Mark Haddon
The most stunning example of what creative minds can do. In the writer’s imagination, a young patient of Asperger’s Syndrome writes this story, a book unlike any other I have read.

The Wheel of Time series, Robert Jordan
This book gave me the most enjoyable five months of my life, during which I read the first ten books all in row. I love it for the sheer amount of high quality content it provides, a near-perpetual ‘True Source’ of fantasy.

Russian Folk Tales
This was a fat collection of stories I would read during every summer vacation. The mere memory of these fascinating tales reminds me of my wonderful childhood.

Listen: Anish Sood, DJ

Benny Benassi Cinema (Skrillex Remix)
Skrillex picks up Benny Benassi’s chart-topping single featuring vocals by Gary Go and stamps his signature sound all over it. A dreamy melodic vocal-driven break is followed by Skrillex’s edgy drop, all fused into a single, Grammy award-winning package.

Diddy-Dirty Money feat Skylar Grey Coming Home (Dirty South Remix)
Smooth vocals along with good production quality ensured that this single drew massive reactions everywhere it was dropped.

Mark Knight vs Florence And The Machine You’ve Got The Love (Mark Knight Remix)
Both Florence And The Machine and Mark Knight are legends. Naturally when you bring two heavyweights together, you can expect something magical. Florence’s vocals along with Mark Knight’s baseline make this track fantastic.

Avicii Levels
Overplayed at every nightclub, this track features one of the catchiest hooks ever. Needless to say it’s been a huge success and propelled Avicii straight into dance music superstardom.

Coldplay Paradise (Fedde Le Grande Remix)
Yet again a stellar job is done with the new Coldplay track using the catchy vocal hook and building the track around an electro-influenced main hook.

Eat: Shiva, Chef, Tasty Tangles

China Garden, Bandra
This is the restaurant that familiarised Mumbai with ‘Indianised Chinese’. The food quality and taste has been quite consistent over the past many years as well.

China House, Santacruz
The authentic flavours and ingredients used at this restaurant lead to some of the best oriental food available in Mumbai. The roasted duck is my favourite specialty here.

Gajalee, Lower Parel
For seafood, there is no better place than Gajalee. The tandoori crabs and prawn pickle are simply outstanding.

Aurus, Juhu
The ambience at this seaside fine dining restaurant is like no other. The food prepared by chef Ratnani is always bursting with flavours and you will never be disappointed here.

Global Fusion, Bandra
The concept of this restaurant is great. A wide variety of unlimited food at a reasonable price is something you don’t come across very often. Besides, they don’t compromise on taste and quality of the food either.

Watch: Shazahn Padamsee, actor

Sholay (1975)
My dad (Alyque Padamsee), who has the laser disc at home, has made me watch it at least five times. I remember he used to keep watching the film for his favourite scene where Dharamendra is teaching Hema Malini how to shoot.

Taxi Driver (1976)
It’s a great film, which is very high on performances. I would call it a ‘powerful’ film. Robert De Niro’s performance, of course, is absolutely sublime. The film has set benchmark for many films in a big way. You don’t come across such films every day in life.

French Kiss (1995)
It’s an all-time favourite romantic film. The characters are very cute and story is amazing. I think I must have watched it about 100 times.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)
While studying in school, I would sneak out during my breaks to watch this film. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are my favorite actors. And in this film, I can say that both of them are in top form.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012)
The chemistry between Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor is absolutely awesome. Plus, the film is very relatable and innocent in its appeal.
