College student threatens to post videos of woman on porn sites, held

According to police, the accused rolled up a piece of paper where he made the threat and threw it at the woman’s house.

A 20-year-old college student from Delhi was arrested and sent to jail on Sunday after he allegedly threatened to post videos of his 21-year-old classmate on porn sites, police said.

The woman had filed another complaint against the accused in April for allegedly misbehaving with her and threatening to kill her at the college library, sub-inspector Abdullah, said.

On August 9, the accused rolled up a piece of paper where he made the threat and threw it at the woman’s house, police said. He was arrested and sent to judicial custody for a day, police said.

An FIR was filed at Rajendra Park police station under section 292(1) and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

Assistant sub-inspector Poonam, the investigating officer in the case, said that the accused had mentioned in the letter that they were in a relationship.

“The woman’s mother saw the letter and later, the parents lodged a complaint with the police,” she said.

Police said that acting on the complaint in April, an FIR was filed under section 354D of the Indian Penal Code and the accused was arrested.

“When he was released, he again tried to get in touch with the girl and later sent her a letter, threatening to post some videos that he made of her on porn sites,” Poonam said.
