18 municipal councils, 2 municipal corporations and 11 village panchayats went to the polls in total. The election was necessitated as the tenure of 31 municipal bodies expired in June.
In this phase, 24 newly formed and upgraded cities and seven cities whose term ends in June this year were included. These 31 municipalities are from 21 districts.

Ward councilor candidate of Ward No. 42, Suddhamia Devi won the by-election held in Bihar's Nawada municipality, according to ABP report. Bypolls were held in seven wards in urban local bodies where elected representatives have resigned in the last few months after the December urban elections.

Bihar State Election Commission said that the armed forces have been deployed at all the counting centers to ensure smooth process. Dedicated control rooms at multiple levels - municipality, district, and commission levels - were set up to address any disruptions or complaints during the counting process.

The civic polls took place in Patna, Buxar, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Vaishali, Nalanda, Nawada, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran, West Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Kishanganj, Munger, Lakhisarai, Saharsa, Jamui and Banka districts.
How many people voted in these civic polls?
The total number of electorates were 1.273 million of which 6.68 lakh were male, 6.05 lakh were female and 63 were categorised under the other genders.
Elections for 31 urban local bodies
Elections were scheduled for 31 urban local bodies, comprising 24 ULBs where elections were not held during the previous urban polls held in December. Additionally, seven ULBs whose five-year term is concluding in June also conducted elections.
