FIR against AAP’s Amanatullah Khan for ‘assaulting’ former supporter
DCP Biswal said that the complainant was a former supporter of the Okhla MLA, but Khan was miffed after he shifted allegiances.
The Delhi Police have registered a first information report (FIR) against Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan and his supporters for allegedly assaulting and threatening a resident of Jamia Nagar on Sunday.

The FIR was registered on Monday under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restrain), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code on the complaint of the injured man, said deputy commissioner of police (southeast) Chinmay Biswal.
DCP Biswal said that the complainant was a former supporter of the Okhla MLA, but Khan was miffed after he shifted allegiances.
“The complainant has alleged that a mob comprising of AAP supporters blocked his way, surrounded and assaulted him. He has alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party legislator was present there when he was attacked. We have registered a case and are probing it,” said Biswal, adding the incident took place late Sunday evening.
Despite many calls the Okhla legislator was not available for a response.
The AAP MLA has in the past accused Delhi police of filing false cases against him.
The party had accused the Delhi Police of launching a witch-hunt against their members of legislative Assembly on the directions of the centre, a charge that the police have denied.
