THE GWALIOR police are setting up base camps in thick forest and hills as part of their operation to hunt down the dreaded Gadariya gang. The gang has escaped the police dragnet so far mainly due to delay in reaching the spots where dacoits are sighted.

According to police sources the Gadariya gang had contacted family members of the abducted railway engineer Gyanendra Singh on mobile phone. The police have launched an intensive search drive in the Ghatigaon police circle for the last three days. The gang generally stays on hills for several days near some water source.

That is why, the police are setting up base camps in Ghatigaon circles on hills and thick forest. The force would be deployed in these camps with arms and wireless sets.
