Changing weather pattern affects all
THE VAGARIES of weather has resulted into various sorts of complications.
Early February, the temperature shot up unexpectedly. This disturbed the normal cycle of crops. Standing crops were once again affected with the sudden spells of rain. The rain spoiled the crops and also their Holi mood.
The fluctuating weather also brought along with it various diseases. The number of patients affected with seasonal infections and viral fever has started to increase. Dr Aniruddha Kumar Pandey, who runs a clinic at Vishwa Bank in Barra, said such ailments occur mostly during the transition time of seasons.
He advised people to take required precautions. On being asked about them, he said equal body temperature should be maintained at every stage. Wollens should not be abandoned all of a sudden and completely. He asked people to wear light woolens during night hours.
Pandey said that if people felt uneasy they should immediately consult the physician and take prescribed medicines regularly.
However, met experts said that sudden change in weather conditions might cause more trouble during summer.
Dr DC Keim of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural University, Kanpur, stated that such abnormal weather conditions are the result of overuse of natural resources. Farmers would be the worst sufferers if the normal weather cycle was disturbed, he said.
Expressing concern over the development, he said ecological balance should not be disturbed. Once again the mercury was north bound, which hinted at scorching summer days.
On Monday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius and minimum of 12 degrees Celsius. The humidity level was 81 per cent.
