Congress, a key ally of the DPA in Tamil Nadu, on Saturday submitted the list of constituencies it wished to contest in the May8 Assembly polls to DMK, which is heading the front.
TNCC President M Krishnaswamy, accompanied by Congress Legislature Party Leader SR Balasubramoniyam called on DMK Chief M Karunanidhi and submitted the list to him.
A sealed cover containing the list of constituencies, identified as per AICC President Sonia Gandhi's instructions, was handed over to Karunanidhi, the TNCC Chief told waiting reporters at the DMK Headquarters "Anna Arivalayam".
Under the seat-sharing agreement, the DMK has allotted 48 seats to the Congress. The DMK would contest 129 of the total 234 seats in the State, while PMK was allotted 31, CPI-M-13, CPI-10 and Indian Union Muslim League-three.
Though the DMK had finalised identification of constituencies for CPI(M), the names would be announced later, Karunanidhi said, after signing an agreement with CPI(M) earlier in the day.
