Gnosiomania-2K6 has a grand finale
AS THE quizzing extravaganza Gnosiomania-2K6 entered its third and final day at the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), it attracted more participants than earlier days with events like Dumb Charade and Antakshari providing knowledge and entertainment to all.
AS THE quizzing extravaganza Gnosiomania-2K6 entered its third and final day at the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), it attracted more participants than earlier days with events like Dumb Charade and Antakshari providing knowledge and entertainment to all.
The team from IT-BHU bagged the first prize in the Dumb Charade. The most popular ‘Corporate Quiz’, conducted by famous quiz master Dhananjay Shettigar, left the crowd mesmerised with his sharp acumen and interesting questions, which aroused plenty of interest and enthusiasm among the participants.
Questions ranging from the magnates of the corporate world to the thriving Indian corporate persona, led to nail biting finish. Once again the first prize was captured by the IIT-Kharagpur team led by Ravi Handa while the team from IT-BHU won the second prize.
In the afternoon, the much-awaited ‘General Knowledge Quiz’ was conducted by Shettigar which saw maximum participation. The quiz tested the knowledge of current affairs and historical events.
Novel concepts like the audio-visual round, including music and crossword, captivated and tested the creativity and imagination of all.
As the evening drew near, the proceedings culminated in a grand closing ceremony. Senior journalist VS Dutta was the chief guest on the occasion. He gave away prizes to the winners of various quizes.
Earlier, Dutta also praised the students for conducting the event which helped them in keeping abreast with the world around them.
Speaking on the occasion, MNNIT director Prof AB Samaddar expressed satisfaction over the entire proceedings and wished the participants every success in their future endeavours.
Mukul Shukla, convenor of Gnosiomania- 2K6, in his address said that more than 60 teams from different parts of the country participated in the event.
The team from IIT-Kharagpur bagged the first prize in some of the most prestigious quizzes held during the event.
The ceremony was wrapped up by a vote of thanks by president of MNNIT Student Activity Centre, Prof Rakesh Narain, who congratulated the winners and the participants as well.
He expressed special appreciation for the students of MNNIT for their meticulous planning, perfect co-ordination and indefatigable zeal in organising the event. He also expressed his thanks to all those who contributed towards the mega success of this event.
