Pratiyogi Chatra Morcha (PCM) leaders also participated in the meeting including Rajesh Singh and AUU general secretary Suresh Yadav.
Members of the Allahabad University Grievance Committee consisting of Dean Students Welfare (DSW) Prof Jagdamba Singh, Proctor Prof Jata Shankar, chairman Board of Trustees Prof GK Rai, heard the problems and demands of the students on the occasion.
In a communiqué Rajesh Singh claimed that the members have decided to reduce different bills and revoke the decision of the State government to charge electricity bills from the hostel inmates.
They said that the committee assured to provide scholarships for poor students and issue free books to them.
Internet facility in every hostel was also promised by January-February next year.
Singh claimed that the authorities accepted his demand of restoring evening classes, revoke the decision of reduction in seats.
Yadav said that the authorities declared to start bus service for female students on their demand.
The grievance committee will prepare a report on the meeting and forward it to the Vice-Chancellor.
The students also demanded restoration of Urdu, Arabic quota, and evening classes in Law faculty.
