HC panel to monitor bird flu

THE MP High Court today constituted a four-member committee comprising the poultry experts and Government officials to keep an eye on the poultry farms and products in MP in view of the outbreak of bird flu in Maharashtra and Gujarat.

THE MP High Court today constituted a four-member committee comprising the poultry experts and Government officials to keep an eye on the poultry farms and products in MP in view of the outbreak of bird flu in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The committee would work on the technical aspects to check spread of avian influenza.

Retired veterinary college professor Dr A G Khan, veterinary pathologists Dr J L Vegad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College & Hospital superintendent Dr P K Kasar and the State Government’s Director Veterinary Services as convener are members of the committee.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice A K Patnaik and Justice Ajit Singh directed that the committee to hold its maiden meeting before March 13 and submit its report to the court.

The Nagrik Upbhokta Margdarshak Manch president and veterinary doctor P G Najpande informed the court that Jabalpur Divisional Commissioner I S Dani wanted authorities of Veterinary Services be inducted into the committee in place of him.

In previous hearing Najpandey suggested name of Dani to be inducted in the committee.
