It would be a one-day session to seek the trust vote, he said after the customary Cabinet meeting.

The meeting was held after he was sworn in as Chief Minister and BJP's Yediyurappa as Deputy Chief Minister.

Governor TN Chaturvedi had asked Kumaraswamy to prove his majority within eight days of his ascension of office.

A joint session of the state legislature would also be convened later which would be addressed by the Governor outlining priorities of the JDS-BJP government, which assumed office on Friday following collapse of the Congress-JDS ministry headed by N Dharam Singh.
