Ankit was taking treatment from some unqualified doctor in the village, informed Dr Mohd Asad medical officer incharge posted at Mauaima community health centre (CHC).
A doctors' team led by Dr Asad also visited the measles affected Harakpur and Mehraunda villages in Mauaima on Wednesday. But due to superstition attached with the measles outbreak the local residents refused to take treatment from the doctors.
They closed their doors and even stopped the team from coming inside their home.
Later, on the request of Gram Pradhan the local residents collected at one place where they were distributed ORS packets. The additional doses of Vitamin A were also given to about 100 children in these villages.
The team informed the residents about the special care need to be taken of a child suffering from measles.
They were also asked to maintain general hygiene, said Dr Asad.
Chief medical officer Dr Shantimal Singhavi has requested the people in measles-affected areas to take treatment only from qualified and experience doctors.
The chief medical officer has also directed the epidemic team to give additional doses of Vitamin A to all the children in the five kilometer radius of the measles-affected village.
Any carelessness in this work would not be tolerated. The team is also expected to submit its report daily, he said.
