Randhir Singh, IOA secretary, said, "The Games have only been postponed, not cancelled." He also refused to speak about the next Games supposed to be held in Kerala. "There is no question of who is holding it next. First the Ranchi Games have to be held. Only after that, dates for the other Games will be finalised," he stressed.

But SM Hashmi, organising secretary of the 34th National Games, said that he had not received any official communiqué from the IOA. "We are ready and can hold them anytime," he said.
