THE STATE Government is ultimately responsible for eradicating or curbing the problems caused either by the Gadaria dacoit gang or the Naxalites.
If the State Government needs any support from the Central Government it would be provided immediately without any delay, said Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal at a press conference at Congress party office here. He also gave an account of the schemes for maintaining the law and order in the country.
To a question relating to office of profit issue, he said that though the President of India returned the office of profit Bill, it was appreciated by all members of Parliament including the Opposition, so there is no possibility of any lacunae. “We will again discuss the issue in the forthcoming session”, he added.
He criticised the leaders opposing the repeal of POTA. The new bill is properly revised, efficient and capable, he asserted.
Expressing dismay over the agitation to oppose the reservation in education, the minister said that the decision was taken in consensus with all parties but now nobody was daring to express their view except the Congress. The Government was now considering quota for poor people from the upper castes, he added.
Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia was also present on the occasion.
