Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders from the BJP as well as those of the grand alliance, like Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad, have left no stone unturned in the past two months and are hoping to emerge victorious when the results are declared on November 8.

“The battle on the ground is a very keen battle and the opposition that has been put to the BJP’s big surge and the big step in the state; naturally the Prime Minister is leading the campaign from affront. It’s a big offensive by the BJP,” says Vinod Sharma, political editor of Hindustan Times.

It remains to be seen whether one of these alliances will be able to notch a resounding victory on November 8.
