The GO received at the Zila Basic Shiksha Adhikari office here a fortnight back clearly states that primary teachers shall be paid salary by seventh of every month at any cost.
Earlier there was no last date fixed for disbursement of salary. As a result a number of teachers faced difficult in making both ends meet.
Besides it, other pending issues of teachers are also likely to solved if the work plan prepared by the new Basic Shiksha Adhikari, Anil Saxena, gets implemented.
The BSA gave this assurance when a delegation of teachers under the banner of the Uttar Pradesh Primary Teachers' Association met him with regard to their various demands. The BSA assured them to fulfil all their demands in a time bound manner. He also said that several new steps would be taken to bring drastic transformation in functioning of the Basic Shiksha Office here.
It may be mentioned that teachers have been agitating for promotion, cancellation of adjustment, promotion pay-scale, efficiency award, simplification of provident fund loan process, PF Passbook, revoking of suspension order of teachers and others.
Senior teacher leader Kandarp Narayan Mishra said that due to laxity at several levels at BSA office the teachers faced a lot of difficulties in getting their monthly salary. He hoped the GO might bring relief to thousands of primary teachers.
