Rallies mark World AIDS Day

RALLIES, SEMINARS, debate contests and other such awareness programmes were organised to mark ?World AIDS Day? here on Friday. Volunteers took out rallies shouting slogans such as ?AIDS ki rakho jankari, nahi to ayegi tumhari bari?, ?Safe sex, save Life?, ?Do not discard AIDS patients from society?.

Volunteers took out rallies shouting slogans such as ‘AIDS ki rakho jankari, nahi to ayegi tumhari bari’, ‘Safe sex, save Life’, ‘Do not discard AIDS patients from society’.

Drishti Society and Gramya Bharati Samiti took out an awareness rally from BHU main gate which, after traversing from Durga Kund, Gurudham, Bhelupur, Kamachha, culminated into a meeting at Shaheed Udyan in Sigra area.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth (MGKV) unit of National Service Scheme (NSS), Banaras Network for Positive People and HIV/AIDS Society and Social Welfare Institute took out AIDS awareness rallies from different parts of the city today. Students and teachers of Kamlapati Girls College and Kanya Kumari Vidya Mandir Intermediate College also took out awareness rallies. A seminar on ‘AIDS Patient and Social Attitude’ was organised by the local chapter of Directorate of Field Publicity in Journalism and Mass Communication Department of MGKV today. The students participated in a debate contest on the topic. The Field Publicity Officer Narsingh Ram, head of the department, Dr AK Upadhyay and senior scribe Prem Nath Chaubey gave away awards to the winners of the contest. Dr Aurn Sharma, Dr Vinod Singh and Raghvendra Mishra also expressed their views in the function.

Meanwhile, Matribhumi Janseva Sansthan and Blue Print Institute of HIV-AIDS and Health Concern organised a seminar at Pararkar Bhawan to mark World AIDS Day today. More than 50 non-government organisations participated in the seminar.
