Return of the Khiladi?

The three of them are back after a decade – producer Keshu Ramsay, director David Dhawan and Akshay Kumar. The last time they all worked together was in 1997 for Mr And Mrs Khiladi.

Vidya Balan replaces Juhi Chawla this time.

Confirming the news, Ramsay says, “I’m starting the film but nothing has been finalised. I’ve spoken to David. Akshay is doing the film for sure and it’s a solo hero project. I had a word with Vidya, but nothing has been put down on paper yet.”

About the 10-year gap he says, “I know. This film won’t be titled Khiladi. It’ll be a light comedy, typical David style, blended with some emotion.”

Will Chawla also be part of the project? “That’s David’s prerogative. If he decides to cast Juhi, I’ll be happy But it’s his call entirely,” he says.

Since Kumar is busy with Priyadarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiya and his commitment for Yashraj Films, reports say the David film could go on the floors only next year.

Ramsay avers, “Not at all. It will start this year itself. Some time in the second half of this year. We’re trying to match the dates of Vidya and others in the supporting cast with Akshay’s dates.”

Apart from this, Ramsay is also starting another project with son Aryeman, who made his debut in Family last year.

“I wanted to space out his last film and this project. Now it seems like the right time. But I won’t tell you who’ll be directing it. Wait for the official announcement,” he says.

And what about reports that Ramsay has planned a film in which his son falls in love with an older woman?

“Those were just rumours. I never announced it, the media imagined that,” he wraps up sardonically .
