The court acquitted three accused.

The Thalassery Principal District Sessions Court Judge S Sathinathan will pronounce the sentence on Friday.

The judgment was postponed several times after two of the accused who had expressed apprehension over unfavourable verdict by the Thalassery Fast Track Court, which was supposed to have settled the case, transferred it to the District Sessions Court following a direction from the Kerala High court.

Jayarajan was attacked on the evening of the onam festival day on August 25 by the RSS/BJP men owing to political animosity in which he lost one a finger on the left hand. He was then a manager of the party organ Deshabhimani's Kannur unit.

He is now a party MLA, representing the Kuthuparamba constituency.
