The Indian cricket team has already set the pace of expectations by winning the first one-dayer at Karachi. Let us see what the soothsayers see in store for the soaring spirits of cricket fans in India.

AJAI BHAMBI, Astrologer: "The lord moon is in the fourth house that represents India whereas Pakistan is placed in the 12th house, which isn’t good for them. For India, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Zaheer Khan, Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid will play well. For the Pakistanis, Pindi Express Shoaib Akhtar will make a mark. But it’s Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan who will stand out for his outstanding performance in the series."

SANJAY B JUMAANI, Noted numerologist: Predicts that though India might lose some of the initial matches, we’ll win the cup. "India adds up to number three, which is good for the year 2004 (because the sum total of this year is 6). Whereas Pakistan adds up to number seven, which isn’t lucky for them," he says.

PROFESSOR KAMALA PREM, of Plan Your Destiny: "The game is being played on their pitches, and chances are that we won’t come back happy. Also, it will be difficult to mend political differences if Pakistanis lose, which is not very likely though."

ASHOK AGARWAL, Astrologer: "It’s sad but true that India will lose against Pakistan because our cricketers simply won’t be able to cope with the Pakistani team’s strong fielding strategy."
