Speaking to reporters here, PCC president V Narayanaswamy alleged that the AIADMK was ignoring the directives of the EC in this regard. The BJP was equally to blame since it had alinged with the AIADMK and its nominee, Lalitha Kumaramangalam was contesting the polls, he said.
The Congress party would, therefore, ask the EC to disqualify her, he said.
On the BJP's election manifesto, he said it contained 'mostly irrelevant' points. Though it spoke of a reservation quota for women in legislative bodies, the BJP had not done anything in this regard during its five year rule. It also spoke of the Ayodhya issue, for which a solution had not been found.
Describing the NDA alliance as 'opportunistic', he also criticised the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's remarks against the Pondicherry Congress.
