On George Fernandes blaming President APJ Abdul Kalam for the Barak deal
"Nothing surprises me, particularly a comment from Mr George Fernandes."

On need for effective registration of arms dealers
"If (arms) agents cannot be done away with, it is much better that we should know who the agents are. I think registering or some variant of the mechanism should be explored."

On Gujarat high court declaring UC Banerjee report illegal
"I will review if there is any recourse which is necessary. There are higher courts of appeal and that mechanism we will explore."

On standoff over agricultural subsidies at WTO
"Unless there is an agreement between the European Union and the US, I don't think we can move forward. We are not the problem, we want to be part of the solution."

On a full-time foreign minister.
"Yes, we will have a full-fledged foreign minister. You will not have to wait for too long."

On his assessment half-way through UPA's five year term.
"I am humbly satisfied with what we have done and been able to do but there are miles to go before we sleep."

On Jeevan Reddy committee recommendation for repeal of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act
"The report is under consideration. I can't say we can take early action. We have to take the totality of the situation in various parts of the country. We are dealing with difficult situations, not only in North-east but also in Jammu & Kashmir."
