Two suspected militants died in a grenade blast at Sekta in Imphal East district of Manipur, the police said today.

The grenade went off when the militants attempted to plant it at the residence of L Ranjan at around 7 pm yesterday, the police sources said.

While one died on the spot, the other died of his injuries at the hospital, sources said.

Ranjan and his family members were not present at the time of the incident as they were attending a religious function at a relative's place, sources said.
