THE STATE government has decided to implement a single unified e-Procurement System in all its departments, agencies, undertakings, corporations and boards. The State government is availing this service through Wipro Ltd. in consortium with NexTenders (India) Pvt. Ltd.
To start the implementation of e-Procurement System, Public Works Department (PWD) has been chosen as the first department, an official release informed on Friday. Over a period, the e-Procurement System would be implemented in all other agencies of the state.
From February 20, 2007 onwards, tenders above Rs. two crore of the Public Works Department would be processed using e-Procurement System only.
The e-Procurement System would be made available on the website http://mpeprocurement.gov.in/ and the tenders of Public Works Department would be made available on website http://pwd.mpeprocurement.gov.in/
The Contractors already registered or intending to register with the PWD are required to register themselves on the e-Procurement System. Without valid registration on the main portal and empanelment on the sub-portal, the contractors would not be able to participate in the tender process using the e-Procurement System.
As the bids of the contractors are required to be signed with Class III Digital Certificates, the contractors are required to obtain these certificates at the earliest. The Digital Certificates can be obtained from the e-Procurement Cell at Room No.5, First Floor, Satpuda Bhawan, Bhopal. The process of issuance of Digital Certificate may take up to seven working days and hence the contractors are being informed to obtain the same at the earliest.
Further, as the e-Procurement System requires the payment of tender document fees online, the contractors are advised to obtain credit cards/internet banking accounts for their use. The list of Modes of Electronic Payments is available online on website http://mpeprocurement.gov.in/.
Also, the contractors have been advised to get them trained on the process of participating in tenders processed using the e-Procurement System. The Contractors are advised to get in touch with Authorized Representative of Wipro–NexTenders on Phone No. 0755–2441095 for advance bookings.
In connection with the implementation of e-Procurement System in Public Works Department, an awareness workshop for contractors registered/intending to register with PWD will be conducted on February 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the meeting Hall of National Highway Authority, Satpuda Bhawan, Bhopal–462004.
