Naval spokesman Cdr Mahesh Joshi said that SS Das, a sailor attached to INS Hansa, died while being treated at Indian Navy's hospital INHS Aswini at Mumbai.

Earlier, three persons, including Das's wife Swati and two others, died in Mumbai.

They were injured, after a pipeline, carrying Naphtha from Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) to Zuari Industries Limited (ZIL), a fertiliser manufacturing unit, accidentally caught fire on August 19.

The fire erupted in Varunapuri locality of Vasco inhabited by the Navy.

Eight people were injured in the fire of which six, who were severely burnt, were shifted to INHS Aswini after being treated at navy's Goa facility.
