Royal Challengers Bangalore were certain to finish at the bottom of the Indian Premier League standings but managed a fighting display to beat Delhi Daredevils by 10 runs at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on May 14.

RCB skipper Kohli — who has probably been the only consistent player of the Royal Challengers Bangalore campaign having managed 308 runs in 10 matches, including four half-centuries — picked up the FBB Stylish Player of the Match award for his performance with the bat.

Kohli had struck 58 off just 45 balls to win the award in the post-match presentation.

But while the ceremony was underway, Kohli stepped away from the limelight for a few minutes to skip over the boundary line, jump over the advertising boards and visit his cheering fans.

The India captain, who is known to wear his heart on his sleeve, then tossed the award to his fans, which many have termed as a display of Kohli’s humility.

As captain of the Indian national team, Kohli will now be expected to pick up his form for the upcoming 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.

His Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate Chris Gayle has backed the India skipper to bounce back from the disappointing IPL season once he gets back into the national set up.
