Khushi Kapoor is just finding her feet in the industry. Why hate on her already?

    Giving out second chances

Karan Johar has revealed the poster for his Netflix film, Nadaaniyan, aka, Ibrahim Ali Khan’s debut. Khushi Kapoor’s in it, too. But everyone hates that, because she failed to dazzle in her Archies debut two years ago. Guys, guys. So what? She’s still figuring out her place, the way newcomer does. Think of Ananya Panday and Alia Bhatt when they started out. Give it time.

    Unhooking ourselves

Ok, sports brands. Enough with the multi-strap, criss-crossed sports bras. The style looked good when it launched. We tried them. We got entangled. We’re still struggling. Even when worn right, the straps never quite lay flat. End this trend. We don’t want to be sexy in the gym, we just want comfort and support.

    Playing the fool

The Louvre in Paris just wrapped up an exhibition about how fools have been depicted in art, literature and culture. It’s more than clowns, jesters and harlequins. There are mad kings, possessed peasants and truthers. Shows how little has changed over the centuries. They may just add today’s woke brigade and an Orange President to a future edition.

    Swallowing a hard pill

Nawazuddin Siddiqui will star in the Indian adaptation of the medical drama House, the one featuring Hugh Laurie as an antisocial diagnostician. Don’t get mad. Patch Adams, another medical adap, did phenomenally well as the Munnabhai films. And House itself is an adaption of Sherlock Holmes. If you didn’t know that, go back to Elementary school.

    Singing along

Saw Sam Riber’s proposal to Lissy Alden on Christmas Eve? He recreated the proposal scene from The Wedding Singer (1998) mid-flight, en route to Mexico, walking down the aisle and singing Grow Old With You, with a prop guitar and everything. Even the flight attendants swooned. Early Adam Sandler really set wedding goals, didn’t he?

    Getting a leg up

One-leg trousers aren’t just for amputee pirates. It’s like the slit skirt, but for pants – exposing one full leg, while covering the other. Influencers have been trying to make them a thing for some seasons. Of course, it’s gimmicky. Why should that stop us from having a good time, Boomer?

    Calculating revenge

Inflation is making breakups more expensive. In the US, egg prices are so high, that chucking a dozen at your cheating ex’s car hurts more than the breakup. Toilet paper costs more too; no more revenge-clogging the toilets, then. In India, the price of edible oil is set to increase. So, if you were thinking of torching your ex’s favourite shirt, think again.

    Taking it easy

January is long gone. If you’re still thinking of getting started on your NY resolution, you’re not alone. Consider yourself lucky that you missed the gym rush. Give it - and yourself - time. By next month, when most people lose steam and stop coming, the gym will be emptier. That’s when to strike. Until then, treat yourself.
