Lok Sabha Elections 2019: 1st round of counting to be over by 10 am, says Pune district collector
Each round of vote counting will finish in 40 minutes. Counting of slips may delay the process further
The first round of counting on May 23 will be over by 10 am said Naval Kishore Ram, Pune district collector adding that each round will finish in 40 minutes .
Ram was addressing a press conference which was conducted in the view of the preparation done by the district administration for the day of counting of votes.
“The first round of counting of votes will be over by 10 am said Ram, adding that each round will finish in 35 to 40 minutes.
“Each round of counting of votes will take at least 35-40 minutes. Appropriate training has been given to all the officials and we are completely prepared for the counting day. We do not intend to be in the race for declaring the results faster in comparison to other districts, our focus is on accuracy,” said Ram.
The official declaration of results of Lok Sabha elections 2019, on May 23 is likely to delayed by an hour or two, said Ram.
He said, “The declaration of results will depend on the number of rounds and the candidates in each of the assembly constituencies. Counting of slips may delay the process further.”
The counting for Pune and Baramati parliamentary constituencies will be held at the Food Corporation of India godown in Koregaon Park.
For Maval and Shirur parliamentary constituencies, the counting will be held at Shiv Chhatrapati sports complex, Balewadi.
Of these four constituencies, maximum rounds will be conducted in Shirur (27), followed by Maval (25), Baramati (22) and Pune (21).
At least 1,500 polling staff will be deployed at the Shiv Chhatrapati sports complex and at Food Corporation of India godown on May 23.
A total of 465 police officials will be deployed on the day of counting, where two deputy commisioners of police (DCP); three assistant commissioners of police (ACP); 15 police inspectors (PI); 60 police sub-inspectors(PSI); and 250 local police personnel will be on field. Besides, additional Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) forces will also be deployed.
