Mahabaleshwar tehsildar Ramesh Shendge issued the order on Thursday to avoid a mishap. The police will be deployed to stop tourists at these spots, while boards will also be put up at all entry points, he said.

The points closed to tourists include Arthur point, Elphinstone point, Savitri point, Lingmala waterfall, Ludwik point, and Kate’s point. People will be prohibited at these sites until further orders.

Sources said vehicular traffic will be allowed to use Poladpur ghat on a day-to-day basis.
