Actor Pratyusha Banerjee’s boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh denied that she was pregnant at the time of her death, refuting her histopathology reports.

“She was not pregnant. Everyone is quoting his or her sources but did anyone take the doctor’s interview,” Rahul asked while leaving the Bangur Nagar police station after he was questioned for two hours.

Rahul said Pratyusha’s parents were under the influence of someone who is trying to malign him.

“They did not allege anything in their first statement. If Pratyusha had a problem with me, they would have said so in their first statement. Instead, they gave a second statement under someone else’s influence,” said Rahul.

Pratyusha’s father Shankar told Hindustan Times, “We do not know what is true anymore. The police have not told us anything or what they have found so far. We are waiting for the next hearing. The truth will be out then.”

Rahul reiterated that Pratyusha was suffering from depression owing to huge debts. He said she had not paid the instalments of the loans she had taken. Pratyusha’s parents were handling her finances, said Rahul.

“The police will find everything in their investigations. The facts will emerge in the court of law,” he said.

Rahul said he still couldn’t believe that Pratyusha is dead.

Rahul said, “I still feel she has gone to her friends’ house and that I should call her and ask her to come back. Only when I come to the police station do I realise she is not here anymore.”
