The institute, it turns out, is a pigeonhole flat owned by a Class 2 educated naturopath.

The certificate states that the institute is located at Bhatia Nagar, Shantilal Mody road, in Kandivli (West).

When Hindustan Times visited the given address, Ravishankar Nanji Joshi, a 79-year-old man in a dhoti and a vest, with a flowing white beard said that Munir Khan had been his student.

Joshi claims to have taught around 300 disciples like Munir Khan. “But he (Khan) visited me just once, when he wanted to be enrolled,” says Joshi.

He added that whatever Khan did was criminal, as the certificate issued does not give him the authority to prescribe any kind of medicine.

Joshi added that the course required his disciples to study 15 books on the subject and then answer the 100 questions based on it.

“He should be punished for what he did. He cannot just play with innocent lives. I learnt of his wrongdoings from newspapers.” Khan’s medicine, called Body Revival, is said to have wonder properties, including curing cancer, even at a terminal stage.

Joshi said he had written four books on spirituality and that he learnt the art of naturopathy during a seven-year self-exile in the Himalayas, when he was a teenager.
