Settle playground issue: HC to school, parents

The Bombay high court on Monday asked authorities of Durello Convent School, Bandra and parents of its students to resolve a dispute over the school ground, observing that “everybody has been to school and knows the importance of sports and a playground”.

The dispute arose over allegations that the school, in cahoots with local municipal corporator Baba Siddiqui, was modifying the playground so it could be given out for weddings and parties.

A division bench of justice SA Bobde and justice Mridula Bhatkar directed them to resolve the dispute and appointed senior counsel Rajni Iyer as mediator between the parties.
