On Wednesday night, international popstar Lady Gaga touched down at international airport in Delhi. Crackers and lights on the Diwali evening gave her a coincidental welcome treat. The 25-year-old is stationed at the Taj Mahal Hotel with a large entourage, including private security. “She was wearing a violet skirt with a formal top, jacket and gloves. Her people escorted her quickly to prevent any mobbing,” recalls an eyewitness.
Gaga is being put up in the 3,500 sq ft, grand presidential suite, previously occupied by heads of states. It comprises a master bedroom, a master bathroom, a vanity room, a private pantry, a library, a private workout area, a living room, a dining room and a powder room.
The singer, who was recently interviewed by actor-anchor Simi Garewal for her chat show, India’s Most Desirable, will be performing tomorrow at Lap, the club-lounge owned by model-actor Arjun Rampal in Delhi, for the F1 after-party. Actor Shah Rukh Khan will interview her for a TV channel, which will also telecast her performance.
The pop icon is happy to be in India. She wrote on her page on the micro-blogging site Twitter, “I am finally here! What a dream come true! Performing at Formula 1 in India, and my first day here.”
A friend of hers seems to be unwell. She writes, “It’s very hard to be away from someone that you love when they are sick. But I know he would want me here, I will be home soon big guy.”
The singer, in Delhi for four days, also met and interacted with the winners of the ‘Meet Lady Gaga’ contest, organised by HT City and desihits.com. Raghav Tibrewal and Saif Tinwala from Mumbai made it to the list of the lucky winners. Bhawna Gera, Anurag Gupta, Tareeshi Sangal, Shubham Rawat and Purnita Bharat are the others who hit the jackpot.
