Five-time world champion Mary Kom thrashed Apari of Philippines 21:8 to storm into the finals of Asian Boxing Championships in Mongolia on Saturday.
The pugilist from India is gunning for her first Asian title in the 51kg category. She had earlier won a bronze in the 2010 championship.
Other Indians in the semi-final, who are assured of a medal are Pinki Jangra (48 kgs), Sonia Lather (54 kgs), Mandakini Chanu (57kg) Sarita Devi (60 kgs), Pooja Rani (75kg), Bhagyabati Kachari (81 kgs) & Kavita Chahal (85 kgs).
Shiva in final Shiva Thapa (56kg) was the lone Indian to make the final after Olympic-bound Vikas Krishan (69kg) settled for a bronze medal following his loss in the semifinal of the Czech Grand Prix.
Shiva will now face Vittorio Jahyn Parrinnelo of Italy in the summit clash.
