Dense fog in parts of north India, likely to continue over next few days| Pics

Several parts of north India on Tuesday morning were covered in a thick blanket of fog with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting similar conditions to continue for the next few days. In a statement, the met department said that “dense to very dense fog conditions are likely to continue over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh during the next 4-5 days”.

The thick blanket of fog has lead to poor visibility in several cities. According to data recorded on Tuesday morning at 5:30 am, the visibility in Delhi's Palam area was just 25 metres, while in Safdarjung, it was 50 metres. (ANI)

On Monday, the IMD said, “Dense to Very Dense Fog conditions likely to continue over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and Uttar Pradesh during next 4-5 days”. (ANI)

IMD has also issued a yellow alert until December 23 - forecasting moderate to dense fog to continue in Delhi. While dense fog is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday morning, moderate to dense fog is expected on Thursday. (ANI)
