According to a report by Singapore banking group DBS, the yields on India’s benchmark sovereign bonds were hovering around 7.6% ahead of the country’s interim budget. On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged voters to give a clear mandate so that a majority government can take strong and tough decisions. He said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has proved that a majority government can perform way better than a coalition one. “If we didn’t have the majority, I could have said it’s not a clear majority and have compulsions. Jet Airways cancelled 15 flights on Wednesday following grounding of six Boeing 737 planes over non-payment of lease rentals.
