Photos: Himachal Pradesh shivers as cold conditions intensify
Cold conditions intensified across Himachal Pradesh on Friday as several places continued to shiver at sub zero temperatures, throwing normal life out of gear. The supply of essentials items has been disrupted to the state capital Shimla with the roads covered in snow, causing inconvenience to residents and tourists. Over 900 roads in the state remain snowbound and are blocked according to the state disaster management authority.

A blanket of snow covers Shimla on Thursday. Even as the skies cleared on Thursday, normal life in Himachal Pradesh continued to remain paralysed as power and water supply remained affected in several parts of the state. More than 150 roads were initially blocked in Shimla district, which experienced 27.2 cm of snowfall. Many areas are still facing disrupted power and drinking water supply.
