Nigerian woman found carrying heroin in soap wrappers in Ludhiana
During questioning , the accused told the police that she procured the heroin from a man in Delhi, and was on her way to deliver it in Ludhiana and Jalandhar.
Khanna police have arrested a Nigerian woman after recovering 300gm heroin from her possession that she had hidden in three soap wrappers. The accused has been identified as Sofia, 25. She has been living in Delhi since December 2017, and works as a beautician.

Khanna senior superintendent of police (SSP) Navjot Singh Mahal said deputy superintendent of police (DSP, investigation) Ranjit Singh, along with a police party, set up a check post near Priston Mall on National Highway 1 for checking vehicles.
There, the Nigerian woman got down from a bus and tried to escape on spotting the cops. But the police team managed to apprehend her, and on frisking, recovered three soap packets from her handbag. On examining the packets, the cops found heroin stuffed in them.
During questioning , the accused told the police that she procured the heroin from a man in Delhi, and was on her way to deliver it in Ludhiana and Jalandhar.
A case under Sections 21/161/85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the woman at Sadar police station in Khanna. The SSP said more important information was expected from the accused during questioning.
Three Ludhiana men held with 100gm heroin
In another case, the Doraha Police of Khanna arrested occupants of a Toyota Innova after recovering 100gm heroin from their possession near first-aid post in Doraha.
The accused have been identified as Rajinder Kumar of Nandpuri Colony of Noorwala Road, Ludhiana; Deepak Bhalla of New Basant Vihar of Noorwala Road; and Aman Sharma of Noorwala Road. The accused were coming from Khanna in the vehicle when the police stopped them for checking. A case under Sections 21/161/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the Doraha police station.
Samrala man held with 1.23 lakh sedative pills
The CIA staff of Khanna Police arrested a Samrala man with a cache of drugs. The accused has been identified as Amninder Singh of Mutton village, Samrala. Police said the accused was arrested from near Canal bridge in Utalan village. The police recovered 1,23,420 sedative pills, 1,720 capsules, 259 banned injections and 15kg poppy husk from the car. A case under Sections 15/22/25/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at the Samrala police station.
In another case, the Doraha Police arrested two accused, Dharamjit Singh and Karamjit Singh, both residents of Jaipura village, after recovering 10kg poppy husk from them. A case under Sections 15/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at the Doraha police station. The accused were smuggling the contraband in a car that has been seized.
139 cartons of illicit liquor recovered
Khanna City police recovered 139 cartons of illicit liquor from a jeep on Saturday. The occupant of the jeep managed to escape after leaving the vehicle on the road on spotting the police party. A case under Sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act has been registered against the unidentified accused.
