But Phoolka, who lost a close contest to Congress’ Ravneet Singh Bittu from Ludhiana in the Lok Sabha polls, remains undecided.

The name was cleared by national convenor of the party Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday after the Punjab executive body, in a meeting held in Jalandhar, picked Phoolka, according to Himanshu Pathak, a member of the state executive.

Harjot Singh Bains is the incumbent state convener. Sources said a nine-member delegation of the executive had gone to Delhi to have a final word with Kejriwal.

Phoolka, however, said he would take a call after discussions with state leaders, including AAP’s four MPs. The AAP had won four seats from Punjab.

Also, Himanshu informed that Kejriwal would visit Amritsar on June 3.
