BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh on Sunday claimed that the congregation of Sikh radical leaders in the name of ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ led Capt Amarinder Singh to win the position of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president.
In a statement here, Chugh advised Amarinder to take charge of the new post at Chabba, the venue of the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’, and invite Jagtar Singh Hawara, the convict in assassination of former chief minister Beant Singh, and Simranjit Singh Mann.
“Your conspiracy to plan the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ with the support of radicals and with active connivance of your trusted Congress leaders helped you get the post of the PPCC president. You have been rewarded by AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi for disturbing peace and harmony in the state. So, ideally you should hold your first rally at Chabba,” Chugh said.
Saying that Amarinder had been exposed, Chugh said the new chief should be bold enough to also invite Dhian Singh Mand, Baljit Singh Daduwal and others who participated in the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’.
He alleged, “The frustration level in the Congress has gone so high that it did not hesitate to conspire and even join hands with anti-national forces who passed seditious resolutions on the bidding of loyalists of Capt Amarinder Singh.”
