Ahead of the big audio launch of Rajinikanth’s 2.0 in Dubai on October 27, director Shankar on Wednesday shared a picture of his upcoming flick which has Amy Jackson and Rajinikanth in it. Similar to the picture of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, shared long back, this picture too shares a tight close-up of Amy and Rajinikanth. They are facing each other and what we see are side profiles. This is pretty much like the Akshay and Rajinikanth poster, only that one had hostility written all over it, while this one is rather mushy.
While the makers haven’t really spelt out what character Amy plays in the film, this poster gives broad hints that she is perhaps a humanoid or a robot. What we sense is that there is a romance between Amy Jackson’s character and Chitti, the robot from Enthiran (Robot in Hindi), the first part of the series.
Sharkar’s 2.0 is among the most anticipated Tamil films. Starring Rajinikanth and Akshay, who are pitted against each other as Dr Vaseegaran and Dr Richard, the film will have a mega audio launch in Dubai. The star-studded affair will have among its guest the Emir of Dubai. About 12,000 people have reportedly been given free passes of the event. Also in attendance will be Kamal Haasan.
Apparently, the makers have set aside a whopping budget of Rs 12 crore for the audio launch which will witness a live performance from double Oscar winner AR Rahman. The teaser of the film will be unveiled on November 12 in a grand event in Hyderabad. The trailer will be released on the occasion of Rajinikanth’s birthday on December 12 at a special event in Chennai.
2.o is a sequel of the 2010 hit film Robot. The story centres around Dr Vaseegaran and his creation, a robot called Chitti, and his rival scientist Bohra, played by Danny Denzongpa, and the ensuing clash between the two. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played his love interest. This time around, the conflict of interest continues but looks like new characters have been added. The film also stars Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain.
