Anushka Shetty has often been associated with strong female characters. Think Arundhati and her upcoming Rudhramadevi. But in her new film, Inji Iduppazhagi (Size Zero), she will soon be playing a dysfunctional character. Watch teaser here:
Think Anushka Shetty and chances are images from her period dramas, Arundhati and the upcoming Rudhramadevi, and Baahubali 2, come to your mind. She's always played these strong female characters. They are quintessential Indian beauties with minds of their own. But in her new film, Inji Iduppazhagi (Size Zero), Anushka will soon be playing a dysfunctional character. The first teaser of the film is out.
Anushka's character is obese. Her parents try getting her married, match-making her with all and sundry but disaster just follows her. The under one-minute teaser also shows her failed attempts at image makeovers. We get a glimpse of the leading man, Arya, but nothing more. The two characters meet briefly in this teaser.

While Anushka Shetty has appeared in a number of successful women-centric films, this is perhaps the first where she explores the comedy genre. As the name suggests, the film revolves around how her character pursues 'size zero' to shed her extra baggage.
Inji Iduppazhagi has been directed by Prakash Kovelamudi while its music is by Maragathamani.
