Malayalam actor Vijayan Peringode passed away on Wednesday in Palakkad after suffering a cardiac arrest. The actor was rushed to the hospital early in the morning after he complained of chest pain. According to media reports, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Actor Vijayan passed away at the age of 66.
Vijayan entered the film industry as a production executive, and then became a manager before he debuted as an actor with PN Menon’s film Asthram in 1983. The actor has since worked in over 40 films in a career spanning three decades. He has worked alongside Mohanlal in a number of films including Devasuram and Oppam; he worked with Mammootty on Pattalam.
He has also worked on a few Tamil films in his career. Last seen in Major Ravi’s 2017 film titled 1971 without Borders, Vijayan has worked with all the big stars in the industry.
According to reports, the actor’s funeral is expected to take place on Wednesday at 4 pm in Peringode, Palakkad. He is survived by wife Chanjalakshi and three children -- Kannan, Anadapadmanabhan and Gayathri.
