Karthi and Vishal were part of the multi-starrer Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja, Prabhudheva’s Tamil venture.

Actor-filmmaker Prabhudheva’s comeback Tami directorial, Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja was launched amid much fanfare earlier this year. It was a multi-starrer featuring Vishal, Karthi and Shivaay fame Sayyeshaa. The project started rolling earlier this month and its composer Harris Jayaraj even completed composing four songs in record time. In a sudden turn of events, the project has been stalled indefinitely as its male protagonists Vishal and Karthi have opted out for reasons yet unknown. The inside grapevine is that Karthi exited the project as Prabhudheva didn’t have the second half of the project ready as promised.

According to reliable sources, the project will now be made with new male lead cast and the makers are figuring out suitable replacements for Vishal and Karthi. Meanwhile, Prabhudheva might work on a Hindi film with Sooraj Pancholi and will return to recommence Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja later this year. The film has story by late writer-director K Subash, best known for penning the story of Chennai Express. At the launch of the film, Prabhudheva had said he would like to dedicate the film to his friend Subash in whose memory this project was put together in his own production.

This year, Prabhudheva will have two Tamil releases - Mercury and Yung Mung Sung - in which he plays diverse roles. He had also said that he plans to produce more film in his banner and is on the lookout for new talent to support.
