Air India Express crew member flew despite testing positive

A senior member of Air India Express’s cabin crew was on duty despite the airlines being aware that she tested positive for Covid-19 around 50 minutes before the employee’s flight, it has been found. The airline, while admitting that the employee had tested positive, said it will investigate the matter further.

International flights: New destinations, rules, relaxations in October

Indians can now fly to Oman and Kenya. Air India Express is starting direct flights to Dubai from Mangalore in October.
Regular international flights are suspended till October 31 but the civil aviation ministry is in the process of setting up air bubbles to widen the scope for international travellers.(PTI)

Suspension on Air India Express flights to Dubai withdrawn

The DCAA had sent a notice to Air India Express. The notice stated that the flight IX1135 operated by the airline from Jaipur to Dubai International Airport (DIA), had a passenger on board, who had contracted SARS-CoV-2 that causes Covid-19.

Boarding a passenger with Covid-19 positive test result for the second time is contrary to and is in violation of the laid-down procedures and protocols, stated the notice

Dubai suspends AI Express flights till Oct 2 for flouting Covid-19 guidelines

The Air India flights allegedly brought passengers with Covid-positive certificates twice during the last couple of weeks, senior government officials said.

Kozhikode plane crash: Air India Express says 74 injured passengers discharged from hospitals

First Officer Akhilesh Kumar, 32, was co-piloting flight IX-1344 from Dubai to Calicut with 190 people onboard when it overshot the runway at Karipur airport while landing and fell into a 35 feet deep valley. Captain Deepak Vasant Sathe, 58, was the pilot in command of the Boeing737 aircraft that broke into two after crashing, claiming the lives of both the pilots and 16 passengers.
